Blue-glazed jars
Clay. Haft Tepe. 1st-3rd century A.D. Left: height 20.8 cm., rim diameter 6.1 cm. Right: height 19.5 cm., rim diameter 5.7 cm. Left: private collection, Tokyo. Right: private collection, Osaka. Both jars are elongated and have flat bases. Marks made by the potter's wheel at the time of manufacture are seen on the piece shown on the left. Traces on the piece on the right show that the shape of the jar was smoothed by a tool.
