PDC 23092

Bowl with ornamental protrusions
Gilan Province. 1st-3rd century. Height 8.5 cm., diameter 10.3 cm. Collection of Sabur⌠ Matsumoto, Tokyo.
A bowl with a bulging body and a rim curving outward like that of an inverted bell, made of pale green glass containing many air bubbles. There are large ornamental protrusions on the bulging midsection of the body and one row of small protrusions below them. Small protrusions that function as feet surround a pontil mark in the center of the base.
