Green-glazed jar with pair of handles
Clay. Iran. 1st-3rd century A.D. Height 24.9 cm., rim diameter 6.6 cm. Private collection, Tokyo. This piece has numerous decorative horizontal lines on the body made by accentuating the marks made on the potter's wheel while the clay was being turned. Tripod marks are visible on the rim and the base. The outer surface is covered with green glaze.
