PDC 23142

Two-handled jars coated with blue and clear glazes
Clay. Haft Tepe. 1st-3rd century A.D. Left: height 16.6 cm., rim diameter 4.1 cm. Right height 16.4 cm., rim diameter 5.2 cm. Private collection, Aichi. The form of these pieces is similar to that of the piece in plate 87, but the surfaces of these were coated completely with a clear glaze and then blue glaze was applied to the rims and handles. The inside surface is also coated with clear glaze. The bottom is flat but its center is somewhat depressed. The piece on the left has tripod marks only on the bottom, but the one on the right has tripod marks on the top of the rim and the base.
