White-glazed pilgrim flask with solar pattern
Clay. Ardabil. 1st-3rd century A.D. Height 14.4 cm. Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Kōjirō
Ishiguro, Tokyo (no. D. 55). Like those in plates 93 and 94, this piece was made
in molds and joined together later. Marks made by a potter's tool are seen near
the base of the handles. One side of the flask has a decorative solar pattern,
and the other side has a solar pattern of double circles. The marks made by
tripods are seen on both sides.
