Bowl with wave pattern
Gilan Province. 3rd-7th century. Height 8.2 cm., diameter 11.1 cm. Private collection, Tokyo.
A bowl with a vertical rim, made of pale green opaque glass containing many air bubbles. The rim section is embellished with a wide incised groove. There are twenty-four square facets below the incised line. Two rows of double arcs on the body create a wave pattern. There is another incised groove near the base, with five oval facets inside the groove, surrounding a circular facet at the base.
