The wood sailing ship Parthian departed on a voyage around Cape Horn from Boston Harbor on November 3, 1827, to the Sandwich Islands, under Capt. Richard D. Blinn. The ship reached Honolulu on 30 March 1828, a voyage of 148 days. The passenger list was composed primarily of American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions (ABCFM) missionaries destined for service in Hawaii.
